El Parque del Garraf is located south from Barcelona, and is part of the regions of Baix Llobregat and Alt Penedés. It covers an area of 12,820 hectares and has something of a moon landscape: low vegetation at one hand and limestone, dolomite, red sandstones, at the other hand.
The roads are pretty much free of any traffic but come with a price; to conquer some parts of this park you need the legs of a climber. For example, Rat Penat. Rat Penat is a 5km climb at almost 10%. Once you are in the park you will have a few more of these climbs, real beauties for the fit cyclist.
This tour enters part of the Penedés vineyard region, and will take us 6-7 hours and about 140km to complete it.
If you want to do this in summer, we recommend to leave early.
